Lares Trek 4 Days to Machu Picchu Andean landscape – incredible mountains, you will know Andean villages where life is equal to the Inca era will take you to expand your mind by unusual paths around Machu Picchu.
We will start the Lares Trek up the Pumahuanca valley to reach the first lunch spot – Paqcha Pata “Waterfall”. We will walk about 14km all day. Along the hike, there is a small Inca ruin “CHUPANI”. Here we will give you a guided tour.
We will depart from Cuzco to reach a small village called Pumahuanca. This is the starting point of the Lares Trail to Machu Picchu.
We will appreciate the wonderful scenery all along the rocky/scarp trail, and a small crystal clear stream along the hike.
For the night, we will camp at our campsite at Puyoc (4150m).

We will get up to enjoy a delicious breakfast and have strength, we will begin to ascend for three hours to reach the highest point of the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu “Siclla Qasa” pass at 4850m – 15,682 feet above sea level. We will stop for a moment so you can appreciate the beauty of the valley.
Then we will descend to our lunch camp at “Yanacocha” or Black Lake, where we will be able to appreciate the wonderful landscapes, Andean lagoons, potato fields, vizcacha “Andean rabbit” and local families dressed in their traditional bright red clothing. The camp will be near a small traditional village – Cuncani.
Camping

After a traditional breakfast, we will go on an excursion through traditional villages. You will have the opportunity to meet the locals. You will also see the typical Andean huts and farmland.
We will arrive in two hours to the hot springs. After enjoying the hot springs we will have our last lunch with our Inca Trail Specialist team.
Concluding our lunch we will transfer to Ollantaytambo. Here, you will embark on a two-hour train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Overnight in a previously booked hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes.
Early in the morning, we will take a bus to visit the citadel of Machu Picchu. It will be a half-hour ride up the hill. Our tour guide will help you to pass the security control.
The view of the citadel of Machu Picchu is the most spectacular that will remain in your memory.
After the visit, you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own. If you wish to enter Huayna Picchu we have to book in advance because there are few places to enter this other place.
You can also go to the Sun Gate or Intipunku. This is the entrance to the citadel for those who do the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
After concluding our Lares trek to Machu Picchu, you will take a bus back to Aguas Calientes. Here we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Around 04:00 PM, we will take a train back to Ollantaytambo.
Staff will meet you upon arrival and transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco. We will arrive in Cusco at 09:30 PM.
