Pick up from your hotel then you go driving to the trailhead KM-82, there is a checkpoint where you have to show up your passport which needs to match with your permits, after you will start hiking the first couple hours will be pretty flat to arrive to the Inca site of Llactapata, after it will be another couple hours to arrive to the first lunch spot where the porters will be waiting with amazing Organic and fresh lunch.

After lunch comes the first uphill but you’ll get some time for breaks and continue for another couple of hours to reach our first campsite Ayapata- Base camp.

Día 2: Wayllabamba – Pacaymayu

The second day arrives after having taken a nap at the camp, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast and thus have strength for what is coming, we begin our second day of hiking, the most exciting part you could say, as we have to climb the impressive Warmihuañusca pass (“Paso de la Mujer Muerta”) at 4,200masl. Arriving at this point we will have breathtaking views.

Dead Woman’s Pass

Día 3: Paqaymayo – Phuyupatamarka

We will walk approximately 1 hour to the ruins of Runkuracay, you can appreciate a dominant view of the valley Pacaymayu 4000 masl. then we will take another walk for about 45 minutes to reach the Abra de Runcaracay and finally feel like walking on virgin trails on the trail.

When we reach the top we will start descending through a very steep pass, this trail crosses high stone embankments and deep cliffs. After approximately 1 hour from the second pass, we will reach Sayacmarca by a magnificently designed stone staircase, to date no one knows exactly what it was designed for.

On arrival, we will pass through Conchamarca, an Inca dwelling located above Sayacmarca that was a stop for travelers on their way to Machu Picchu.

Día 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu Visit

In the morning we will enjoy breakfast, and we will be able to see the sunrise over the snowy mountains of Salkantay and Veronica, from here our porters will leave and we will proceed to say goodbye. This is the last day but we will also go through places full of mist which makes it magical by a series of Inca stairs to WiñayWayna. And finally, we arrive at the sun gate “Inti Punku”, our first view of Machu Picchu. We cross Machu Picchu to reach the town commonly called “Aguas Calientes”.

Later we will have a guided tour of Machu Picchu that will last about 2 hours, then you will have time to explore on your own and rest from all the trip you can visit the hot springs to conclude this beautiful experience, the next day you will have a new opportunity to see Machu Picchu again.

Día 5: 2nd entrance to Machu Picchu
