In this tour you will get the opportunity to walk part of the Inca Trail to arrive at the Llactapata Inca site, right in front of Machu Picchu. This will be the first site you onjoy of the Lost City of the Incas. You will be able to see the MachuPicchu ruins, Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountain from Llactapa pass
Itinerary on the 4 Day Llactapata & Machu Picchu Trekking
Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu Town
We leave Cusco by van in the morning to visit Ollantaytambo for almost two hours; then we take train to Aguas Calientes. You have free afternoon in order to walk around the Aguas Calientes town, enjoy the hot spring pools and the hot springs.
Day 2 Machu Picchu Town – Hydroelectric – Llactapata
The day that we have to explore around Machu Picchu mountains in order to appreciate the meaning of magnificent Machu Picchu white quartz city in a distance of 5Km
Our train leaves Aguas Calientes town at 06:45am to Hydroelectric for 25 mnts approx, then you take a van for 1 hour to Lucmabamba village where you start hiking all the way up for three hours to Llactapata the lunch spot also camp site (Spectacular place to see Machu Picchu)
The panoramic lunch place is amazing to enjoy the view of Machu Picchu in your free afternoon in Llactapata which is in the bottom part of Salkantay snow capped mountain, the perfect place to have your unforgettable trip in one of the seven new wonders of the world.
Day 3: Llactapata – Aguas Calientes Town
We will wake up directly to see Machu Picchu citadel, afterwards we will have the organic breakfast in order to continue with our hike the 2 two hours and half down hill hike to Hidroelectrica for lunch, right after lunch you will hike from hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes for three more hours approx.
The day is finished in Aguas Calientes after hiking the 14 km on the train truck since the camping site Llactapata
Day 4: Machu Picchu Pueblo – Machu Picchu Citadel – Cusco
We have the breakfast in our hotel, after we will take the first bus from Machu Picchu Pueblo to Machu Picchu Citadel for 25 minutes by bus, which is located in the high amazon jungle “Ceja de selva”. Once you are in the ancient citadel of the Incas your tour guide will carry out the walking tour in Machu Picchu for two hours approx. right after your Machu Picchu tour you will have the extra time by yourselves, where you can explore the Machu Picchu ruins on your own.
After your Machu Picchu tour you have to get back to Machu Picchu town by bus for your lunch, after lunch you must go to be thirty minutes in advance at the train station before your train leaves to Ollantaytambo, finally another 2 more hours by bus to Cusco city in order to finalize our trip on the Main Square or in your hotel.
