Itinerary on the 6 Day Vilcabamba Trek in Peru

Day 1 Cusco – Santa Maria – Huancacalle

We leave Cusco at 9:00 am on the way to Ollantaytambo, where we stop for lunch. After lunch: we drive 2 hour more to Pantiacolla pass, on the way you get to see amazing views; pass through different microclimates, Inca ruins and Santa Maria village. From this town we have an hour to arrive the first campsite Huancacalle Quechua village; bassically today everything is by bus (No hiking on day 1).

Day 2 Huancacalle – Vilcabamba site – Llaulliyoc

Today! After an organic breakfast; the hike begins with amazing views. On the way appreciate farming lands; coffee plantations; wildlife such as hummingbirds; and Inca site. The most important Inca site of the trek Vilcabamba and the last capital of the Incas. After the walking tour in the ruins, we have an hour of hike to arrive to the campsite Llaulliyo

Day 3 Llaulliyoc – Asutiyoc – Rakachaca

Waking up early; we will have the breakfast in order to start the real trail heading gradually up on ancient Inca road. Along the walk you get to see spectacular landscapes, glacier mountains as Pomata. Then comes the lunch after 4 hours of hiking and after lunch we have 2 hours of downhill left to reach our campsite Rakachaca close to a small Quechua village.

Day 4 Rakachaca – Pumaccasa – Mutuypata 

After breakfast we will visit a traditional family house to know the lifestyle of the andean community, today we have uphill hike which take us over three passes approx 4 hours to the lunch place. On the way we will see amazing views, lakes, Condors and we will be able to appreciate the Machu Picchu mountain in front of us. After lunch we have nearly five hours to arrive the next camping place Mutuypata in the middle of the high jungle.

Day 5 Mutuypata – Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes

The easiest day of the trek, after breakfast we hike the whole morning gradually all the way down by the middle of the high jungle to arrive the lunch spot, which is in Santa Teresa the famous hot springs Cocalmayo, where you enjoy the relaxing hot springs. After hot spring and lunch; we take bus to hydroelectric to take the train to Aguas Calientes town.

Day 6 Aguas Calientes Town – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Important day of the hike! We’ll take the first bus back up to Machu Picchu the lost citadel of the Incas.

Have 2 hour guided tour of the city; during this walking tour visit the most important temples of Machu Picchu.

After the tour you will have free time to explore by your own.

Then you have to take bus to Aguas Calientes. to take the train back to Ollantaytambo from where you carry on by bus to Cusco

Day 1 Cusco – Chiquisca – La Playa 

We will pick you up at your hotel by bus to take you to Cachora Quechua town. Along the hike we’ll see a beautiful breathtaking landscapes, spectacular views of the canyon and Apurimac river. The trail is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. After lunch you have downhill hike 2 more hours to get your campsite La playa about 1800 m above sea level.

Day 2 La Playa – Marampata – Choquequirao

After organic breakfast; starts the climb up of 2 hour to Santa Rosa (break point). Then continues the uphill hike for 3 hours to Marampata lunch spot; during the hike you get to enjoy the splendid of Apurimac canyon; the mountain of Choquequirao and beautiful sharpy mountains. After lunch the walk is very gentle to get the abandon ancient city, Choquequirao.The campsite is only outside of the site (Chance to see the sunset and Condors)

Day 3: Choquequirao – Marampata – La Playa

After an organic healthy breakfast; the mysterious tour in Choquequirao starts; where your tour guide explores with you the most important parts of the citadel; and you have the whole morning to enjoy only of the wonder of Peru. After visiting the site, comes the lunch in order to get back to the Canyon of Apurimac, which is la Playa. Where we spend the night close to the river exactly in the first campsite.

Day 4: La Playa – Capuliyoc – Cachora – Cusco

Today! We leave the campsite extremely early in the morning after the breakfast; we’ll hike 4 hours uphill to Capuliyoc spot; where the last lunch be with your expedition team. After lunch; we still have 2 more hour of hike to Cachora Andean village. Finally since this point, we take the bus back to Cusco.

Late in the afternoon we drop you off in your hotel.

Itinerary on the 3 Day Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu

Day 1 Cusco – Tambomachay – Pumamarka Village

Pick up from your hotel early in the morning by bus to take you to the starting point of the hike Tambomachay 3700 m – 12139 ft. You begin hiking uphill for 2 hours to conquer the first pass, since this point you will be on the top of sacred valley mountains, where you get to see amazing views of this expedition, today basically you will hike 4 hours before lunch, then you will conquer the highest peak of the hike 4300 m – 14,107 ft. After you will have dowhill for an hour to get the campsite Pumamarka Andean village.

Day 2 Pumamarka Village – Huchuy Qosqo – Aguas Calientes

Today, after organic breakfast have downhill hike to visit Huchuy Qosqo site, where you have the first guided tour before to descend to the sacred valley of the Incas. Lamay the place for lunch from this point you have to take the bus to Ollantaytambo, in order to take the journey by train to Aguas Calientes. Tonight you will spend the night in a hotel in Machu Picchu town

Day 3 Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

The breakfast in the hotel early in the morning to take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to explore the lost citadel. The guided tour in Machu Picchu takes 2 hours, during this tour you will explore the most important temples of the ruins. After the guided tour you have free time to explore the site by yourself. Late in the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo where you will carry on by bus to Cusco to leave in your hotel.

Itinerary on the 4 Day Cachicata Trek to Machu Picchu

Day 1 Cusco – Socma – Rayan Village

We leave Cusco very early in the morning to the starting point of the hike Socma; located in the sacred valley of the Incas. The hike for today is uphill to arrive the beautiful waterfall of Perolniyoc; and visit the impressive Inca ruins of Inca Raqay; where you get a spectacular views, mountains, valleys from this place. After exploring the ruins you have 1 hour to climb up to the lunch place where you spend the first night, Rayan village.

Day 2 Rayan village – Cachicata Quarry

After breakfast, we have the longest day of the journey and to conquer the highest point of Cachicata trek 4440 m – 14,564 ft. Today! You hike three hours before lunch; after lunch four more hours to get the second campsite Cachicata quarry. During the day you get to see amazing snow-capped Andes mountains; amazing views of the sacred valley of the Incas where Ollantaytambo is, Llama shepherds, etc. The day is for you!

Day 3 Cachicata – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes town

After organic breakfast; you will explore the quarries of Cachicata which is right in front of Ollantaytambo ruins; in this walking tour we see a variety of interesting features. Cachicata spot is an intensive Incan quarry used by Inkas to build Ollantaytambo ruins; and we get to see several large buildings; burial houses (Chullpas); and the Inca mummies in the cave of Cachicata.

After the walking tour of the site; follow the original ramps that was used for transporting the carved stones to Ollantaytambo.

The trail is connected to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo; in the afternoon to take the train to Aguas Calientes town.

Day 4 Machu Picchu the wonder of PERU

After breakfast in the hotel, we will take the first bus to Machu Picchu to visit. We will have a 2 hour guided tour of the citadel; and explore important temples of the site.

After the guide tour in Machu Picchu; you have the chance to explore the site on your own and late in the afternoon take the train to Ollantaytambo; and you will continue by bus to Cusco late in the afternoon.
