SACRED VALLEY TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Sacred Valley Tour
The Sacred Valley is a vast and treasure-filled region with numerous tourist attractions. While it’s possible to visit most of them in a single day, it often means rushing through and not fully savoring each site. That’s why we offer two distinct options to explore the Sacred Valley thoroughly, and for those seeking the ultimate experience, there’s even an option to visit all of them. Regardless of your choice, both options start at 7:00 am at your hotel and conclude at 6 – 7 pm in Cusco. Please review the options below and let us know your preference:
Option 01: Via Pisac (Alpaca farm, Pisac ruins, Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero)
Our Sacred Valley 1-day tour begins with a 7:00 am pickup from your Cusco hotel. We’ll embark on a journey towards Pisac, where you’ll explore five key sites: Awana Cancha (home to Alpacas, Llamas, Vicuña, and Huanacos), Pisac Archaeological site, Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo Archaeological site, and Chinchero. Midway through, we’ll break for lunch in Urubamba, with an optional brewery visit. After lunch, we’ll visit the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Center. Following Ollantaytambo, we’ll drive to explore the Chinchero ruins before returning to Cusco.
Option 02: Via Maras (Chinchero, Moray, Salt Ponds, and Ollantaytambo)
For this option, our Sacred Valley day tour departs from your hotel at 7:00 am. We’ll commence with a visit to the Textile Center of Chinchero, followed by exploring the colonial town of Maras. From Maras, our journey takes us to the nearby Inca site of Moray, an incredible series of terrace circles used for crop experimentation. Next, we’ll explore the ancient salt ponds, in use since Pre-Inca times. Water flows through these pools, evaporating and leaving behind pure salt crystals. The landscape, with thousands of stark white pools, is truly remarkable. Our final stop is the Ollantaytambo ruins, where we’ll spend an hour. We’ll return to Cusco via Huarocondo town, offering captivating views of the Iscuchaca province.
Option 03: Sacred Valley Plus (Chinchero, Moray, Maras, Salt Ponds, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac ruins)
Please note that there is an additional $15 per person upgrade for this option. Our full-day Sacred Valley tour begins with a 7:00 am hotel pickup. We’ll drive for approximately 35 minutes to Chinchero, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Textile Center and learn from locals about their traditional textile-making techniques. Next, we’ll continue to Moray, an impressive series of terrace circles used by the Incas for crop experiments. Then, we’ll explore the salt ponds, which have been in use since pre-Inca times. A subterranean stream channels water into pools, where it evaporates, leaving behind pure salt crystals. The landscape, with its thousands of gleaming white pools, offers breathtaking views. Our journey proceeds to the Ollantaytambo ruins, where we’ll spend an hour before heading to our final destination, Pisac. After exploring the remarkable Pisac ruins, we’ll return to Cusco around 7 pm.
