Lares Trek 4 Days Itinerary

Day 1

Cusco – Pumahuanca – Puyoc

Early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco (around 05:30 am) and transfer through the Sacred Valley to Pumahuanca, the starting point of the trek.

After meeting your trekking team and enjoying breakfast, begin a gradual hike through the Pumahuanca Valley. Along the way, you will enjoy views of Andean villages, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes.

After lunch near Paqcha Pata, continue to the lesser-known Inca site of Chupani before reaching your campsite in Puyoc (4,150 m). Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 2

Puyoc – Yanacocha Lake – Cuncani

After breakfast, hike toward the highest point of the trek, Siclla Qasa Pass (4,850 m), with stunning views of snow-capped mountains.

After enjoying the summit, descend to Yanacocha Lake for lunch, then continue toward Cuncani village. Along the way, you will see alpacas, llamas, and traditional Andean communities.

Dinner and overnight at campsite in Cuncani (3,800 m).

Day 3

Cuncani – Lares Hot Springs – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

Arrive at the Lares hot springs, where you can relax in the thermal waters. After lunch, transfer to Ollantaytambo and take the train to Aguas Calientes.

Check into your hotel and enjoy free time in the town.

Day 4

Machu Picchu – Cusco

Early morning bus to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the main sectors of the citadel.

After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by transport to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
